       Saturday 17 October 2009
Geldmuseum, Leidseweg 90, Utrecht
On Saturday October 17th 2009, the annual ONS-meeting in the Netherlands will be held at the premises of the
Geldmuseum, Leidseweg 90, Utrecht.

Again a number of different subjects will be covered. As previous years, we propose to end the day with a diner in an oriental atmosphere and we have opted for the nearby Chinese restaurant “De Gouden Kom”. We hope that again many people will attend the ONS-meeting and stimulate the mutual contact among the members.

Note: As we are charged for the extra security during the morning session, when the museum is still closed, an attendance fee of € 7.50 will be requested for.

The tentative program will be:

09.30 - 10.15 h Welcome with coffee/tea in the museum café at the ground floor.
10.30 - 12.30 h lectures will be held in the auditorium of the Museum.
The provisional program consist of a presentation by Paul Stevens: British Mints in Bengal c1760-1790 with a brief discussion of the effects on the Dutch; Nicholas Rhodes: Coins of Samudra-Pasai, a few new and potentially controversial ideas - based on evidence of tombstones, as well as the coins and Stan Goron: Durrani coins of Qandahar/Ahmadshahi.

Additional short papers, questions, news items, etc. are welcome.

12.45 - 14.00 h Joint indoor lunch (approx. € 12,50/p.p.) at “First-strike” room.
14.15 - 14.45 h Lectures in the auditorium of the Museum;
Continuation of the morning session.
14.45 - 15.00 h viewing of the coins for auction.

16.30 - 17.00 h Communications among members and informal get-together.

(Note: the museum closes at 17.00 h.)
17.15 - c. 21.00 h A drink, followed by a diner (ca. € 20,=/p. excl. drinks) in the Chinese restaurant “De Gouden Kom”, Damstraat 22, Utrecht.

We hope to welcome in Utrecht as many members as in previous years in previous years. Please inform us, at the latest before the 14th of October 2009 whether you are planning to attend the meeting and also if you intend to stay with us for diner.
